Project Overview
The aim of this project is to create a mobile communication-based system that can connect teachers and parents together for the benefit of a child with CF, a positive outcome of this project will reduce the stress and worry on parents minds when their child cannot be monitored by them and to normalize or privatize the daily treatment a young patient has to endure daily. The benefits a project could have on lives are endless, for a parent to be able to monitor their child while allowing them to be treated like any other child will be hugely beneficial for the patient’s growth. The aim is to allow the child with CF to live their childhood like anyone else while allowing the parent to be peace at mind knowing what their food and medicine intake is on schedule.
Research
The beginning of the user-centered design process is research of the topic chosen, I was first challenged with finding a problem space and to find that I researched broadly on CF to find connecting literature and information of problematic topics discussed. Once I read through articles and composed myself with several problem spaces, I condensed them down to my preference on a topic to tackle. When decided on the problem space of parent and teacher communication I had to refine a Research Question, to which my project would answer.
